AMR Titles Database

The AMR Titles Database contains individually researched estimates of unit shipments and supplier revenue for all feature films released to the U.S. video market. The proprietary database estimates first cycle video performance: gross shipments and revenue to the studio in the quarter of first release detailed by format and pipeline.

The Titles Database contains initial video results for all feature films making their video debut in the years 1996 through Q1 2008. Theatrical film data includes the details of their big-screen run: weeks in theaters, screens at widest release and total box office (U.S.). Films released direct-to-video and made-for-cable/TV movies are also included and make up about two-thirds of the titles in an average year. Director and top talent are listed along with MPAA rating, original release platform, run time, and a synopsis of the plot.

The breadth of data captured has expanded as the home entertainment market has evolved. Historical data includes VHS shipments and revenue for rental and retail; DVD estimates are comprehensive beginning in 2000 for all titles released day-and-date with VHS, with DVD detail by pipeline — rental and retail — available from 2001 onward. Beginning in 2007, rentals and sales are available for day-and-date high-definition releases, both Blu-ray and HD DVD, with a calculation of the theatrical-to-video window for all theatrical releases.

The AMR Titles Database can be purchased as a current year subscription for $5,995. Each quarter is delivered to subscribers in Excel format via email as soon after the end of the quarter as possible.

Historical data is priced based on the number of titles needed for analysis, starting at $75 for data on a single title, with price breaks for orders of 10, 50, 100 or more titles. Custom sorts of the Titles Database are also available, and full-year slates can be purchased as follows:
